YourHabbo History
YourHabbo.co.uk opened its pixel doors over four years ago now, It has certainly seen a few transformations in that time, from different staff to different layouts. Do you want all the gossip on what has happened? Well read on...

TEAM

So who has played a big part in the opening and running of YourHabbo and where else have they worked?
Anzrew - Admin at MyHabbo.co.uk
djtruefitt - Admin at Habboom.com and Habboom.ca
Drone007 - Admin at Habboom.ca and for HabboomBot
Dobzy - Admin at Habboom.com
Hellie002 - Reporter at Habboom.com
Kotu - Admin at HabboGlobe.com

START

It all started when the fansite Habboom.com closed down in July 2004, djtruefitt who was one of the admins there wanted to create a new fansite just as good as Habboom, so him and Dobzy who was another Habboom Admin got with Hellie002 who was a reporter at Habboom and decided to make their own website. The original layout was designed by Dobzy and took many different designs before the final one was reached, one design that has never been published before is this one:

The site opened at the end of September 2004 and was hosted by Anzrew, althought the site soon became popular and Anzrew had to stop hosting us, our friends at HabboHut.com were then our hosts. The original layout was just a remake of the Habbo homepage:

As the site opened Drone007 joined the admin team and brought with him the YourHabbo Arcade:

As time moved on staff came and staff left, some of the important staff that came and left during the first few months of YourHabbo included Techfairy joining as a manager then leaving a few months later due to University, which was when Jhonny-boy joined us to take over from Techfairy, Hellie002 left due to real life issues, Kotu joined the team as a designer, Dj_dude007 as a manager, Dobzy also left the team a few months after the site opened and Historically also joined as a site manager, leaving a few months later.

UPDATES - MARCH 2005

As time went on and the site became more and more popular, Jhonny-boy was promoted to the Staff manager, and it was decided that a new layout should be put on the site, this however took many months and many different designs, the initial design was done by Dobzy and looked like this:

As you can see this is very similar to the second layout, however you may notice the coloured boxes on the left are black, and the content tabs at the top were also different, a few changed were made by djtruefitt on Paint:

This was then converted into HTML and released in March 2005:

But with a new site, a new arcade was needed, so Drone007 converted all the arcade into Flash format in the style of the new layout and this opened at the end of May 2005:

UPDATES - AUGUST 2005

In April 2005 YourHabbo.co.uk became an official UK fansite, gaining many more viewers and becoming one of the top UK Habbo fansites, more content was added, staff came, staff left, changes were made and in August 2005 it was decided that a new layout should be made, but instead of starting from scratch Anzrew edited the layout to create this:

Again djtruefitt moaned, and edited slight parts to bring the third YourHabbo layout, looking even more like a magazine:

UPDATES - MARCH 2006

Months past and that brings us up to March 2006, when the Forth YourHabbo layout was released which was designed by Kotu, and was the biggest and best layout so far, including a user system, news from around the world, plenty of guides, massive competitions and much more including the arcade being built into the site:

UPDATES - OCTOBER 2006

As YourHabbo got bigger more management were needed, so we had a shuffle at the top with Anzrew, djtruefitt, Drone007 and Kotu becoming owners, Jhonny-boy and Dj_dude007 becoming Admins and new management; Demain, Haydn, Jordy and Teat becoming site managers (Teat left the team shortly after becoming a manager). One of the features that users always asked for was a forum, so we listened to you and created our very own forum built into the YourHabbo layout, this is viewed by clicking the Forum link at the top of the page. Another change within the site includes some minor changes such as a new look homepage with stats from the forum and which pages have been updated. In December 2006 Dj_dude007 left the YourHabbo team.

UPDATES - SEPTEMBER 2007

A few changes happened in 2007 including the launch of our sub-sites, shown below. In September 2007 to celebrate our 3rd birthday we launched our brand new layout! Completely different to the others and with even more features, not only was it packed with all the old content, news and forum but this one also had a great widgets feature on the homepage (however due to errors, this was later removed). In March 2008 we also became the number one official fansite on the UK hotel, as voted for by the Habbo public, making us a gold official fansite. We also welcomed our new site managers Miloflembo, Joey (who left a few months later) and Cirtusdrop. Demain and Jordy also left the management team at the start of 2008.

UPDATES - JUNE 2008

In June 2008 we launched our 6th layout, following a similar blue and yellow theme that some of our old layouts had, but in a brand new style, with brighter colours, bigger banners and some more features including the calendar. Demain also re-joined the management team.

UPDATES - AUGUST 2008

In August 2008 we had a few management changes, after 4 years of being with YourHabbo, Kotu left as a owner, leaving Anzrew, djtruefitt and Drone007 as managers, Cirtusdrop also left and was replaced with the old community manager Jordy, Demain became the media manager taking over from Jonathan (who stayed as Admin) and Milo became the forum manager. We also celebrated our 4th birthday! Then in December 2008 we had another managhement shuffle, this time Drone007 left YourHabbo, making Jonathan a owner with Andrew and djtruefitt, also leaving miloflembo, jordy and demain as department managers

UPDATES - JANUARY 2009

On the 17th January 2009 at 9am the brand new YourHabbo Radio launched with djtruefitt (Mike) being the first ever DJ, kicking off the show with Pendulum and propane nightmares. The radio meant a few alterations to the homepage with a build in radio created at the top of the site , and the creation of a new pop-up radio which contained the timetable, radio panel and a place for listeners to send in their shoutouts and requests. With the creation of the radio we also got a new member for the management team to become the radio manager, with Harry getting this role.

Unfortunately due to licensing laws and the large amount of money for a licence it was decided that the YourHabbo Radio would not continue, so the radio therefore closed a month after opening.

UPDATED - APRIL 2009

In April 2009 we launched another brand new layout, this was more simple than some of the past layouts but was filled with great little features, including advanced profiles, profile guest books, changes to private messaging, user captions, my feed and one of the biggest changes the launch of the YourHabbo token shop! Now users have a use for their tokens, from buying games and features to stealing tokens from other users!

UPDATED - JULY 2009

There were a few changes to the management team in July 2009, after being with YourHabbo for over a year Miloflembo left his job as forum manager. Two new positions were then created, Community Content manager which was given to long term YourHabbo team member Jarkie and Community Forum manager which was given to Jordy, they will both run community features around the site and on the hotel. Ant kept his job as Media manager and Harry stayed as technical manager.

YOURHABBO 2004 - 2009

Finally, at midnight on 1st January 2010, YourHabbo officially closed its doors for the last time as like all good things, it came to an end. The for almost five years, YourHabbo had been supplying the world of Habbo with news and interactivity, run by three amazing owners Mike, Andrew and Jon.

SUB-SITES

With YourHabbo getting more and more popular, sub-sites have been added, these include goodies.yourhabbo.co.uk which removed the goodies from the main site to create a site dedicated to user bars, screen savers, AIM and Windows Live Messenger avatars and real life goodies for users to download including door hangers.

The sub site psp.yourhabbo.co.uk Which is a site designed around the popular PSP, so users no longer have to wait ages for the main site to load, or to scroll, they can now view a mini YourHabbo straight on their PSP. The PSP mini site, organised by Demain gave the users the ability to view all the important Yourhabbo pages. It intended to implement the user system and news stories into it. With the decline of the PSP, the PSP site has since been removed.

And in mid 2007 the new sub site status.yourhabbo.co.uk was launched. This site gives you up to the minute status on Habbo UK, Canada and USA hotels, simply search for a Habbo and the site tells you if they are online or not, also to make things easier we have a list of Habbo staff and moderators, so if you ever want to know whos online then this site is for you! And it doesn't end there, with the status site, you can get your own status signature, for you to use on your own website, as a signature or in a profile anywhere on the internet, this status sig shows everyone your Habbo name, what badges you currently have showing, your mission and if you are online or not.
